4090 · QuickBooks Migration

Leaving QuickBooks? Take your history with you.

Subscription fatigue is real, and QBO isn’t the only way to keep good books. We run CPA-led migrations to Xero, Wave, Manager, and Beancount — chart of accounts mapped, history preserved, and closing balances verified to the penny before anything is cut over.

4091 · The Migration

A conversion is a reconciliation problem.

Anyone can export a CSV. The work is proving the new ledger says exactly what the old one did — and that’s an accounting job, not an IT job.

Step 01 · Map

Chart of Accounts

Your existing chart is mapped to the new platform — consolidated where it grew messy, preserved where it matters, and numbered like a firm that takes ledgers seriously.

Step 02 · Move

Data Conversion

Transactions, balances, open invoices and bills, and as much history as the target platform supports are converted — with anything that can’t move archived in a readable format you keep.

Step 03 · Prove

Verification Gate

Trial balances from old and new systems are compared line by line. Closing balances tie to the penny, or the cutover doesn’t happen. You get the comparison as a deliverable.

Migration, answered.

Will I lose my transaction history when I leave QuickBooks?

Handled properly, no. What migrates natively varies by target platform, but nothing has to be lost: whatever can’t be imported as live transactions is exported and archived in a readable, permanent format you keep — and your QuickBooks data remains yours to retain. The verification gate proves the balances carried over exactly.

Which platform should I move to?

It depends on how you run. Xero suits businesses that want a full QBO-style cloud suite; Wave fits simpler service businesses watching costs; Manager offers a capable one-time-purchase desktop option; Beancount is plain-text accounting for owners who want total control and zero subscription. We recommend based on your invoicing, payroll, and reporting needs — not on referral commissions.

Can my bookkeeping continue during the migration?

Yes. The migration runs against a cutoff date while day-to-day bookkeeping continues in the old system; at cutover, the gap period is brought across and reconciled. You’re never without a working ledger.
